scale

The scale attribute specifies the scaling factor of a map. Its value is a floating-point number representing screen pixels per kilometer.

Supporting Tags

The scale attribute is supported by the <map> tag. By default, a map will be scaled so that its entire area fits within the available display area. So, the scale attribute's default value is dependent upon the size of the map and size of the window in which it is displayed.

Examples

<map scale="2.0">

<map scale="0.63">

<map scale="6.579">

Notes

Scale values should always be greater than zero. The behavior of the software with zero or negative map scales is undefined. Future implementations will likely generate an error condition.
